IRS Scandal and the LTTP

Your Liberty Township Tea Party is in the eye of the storm with the IRS scandal.  Rest assured that the IRS harassment was not the action of a rogue, low level IRS employee; we have written proof that higher ups in the IRS were made aware and involved as early as 2011. Further we learn now that the IRS divulged private information from some 30 conservative groups to a nonprofit liberal advocacy group. To be clear, our national government used tax agency bureaucrats to investigate people and groups because of their political beliefs and gave that private information to opposing groups.

To bring you up to date, our Board has given interviews to CBS News, CBN News, West Chester Buzz, Hearst Newspapers, NBC news, WLWT-TV/News5 (on air), Kentucky Enquirer, Gannett Washington Bureau, The Cincinnati Enquirer & Ohio papers, WCPO.com, WCPO Channel 9 News (on air).  We have also agreed to be a party to a class action suit with American Center for Law and Justice.  ACLJ is led by Jay Sekelow and is well known as representing conservative groups before the US Supreme Court and international tribunals.

Our friend, Justin Binik Thomas whom the IRS targeted by name in the first set of IRS inquiries  has Landmark Legal Foundation working on his behalf.

 Susan McLaughlin is in DC for interviews with Freedom Works.  Tim Savaglio will be part of the House Hearings scheduled for Friday.  We pray that their efforts for our country and our freedoms will be fruitful.  The power of the IRS should not be used to abridge our freedom of speech nor our right to peaceably assemble. The current administration appears more willing to reveal these egregious constitutional violations of individual liberty, than reveal what remains buried in Benghazi?

As many of you know, the IRS issued an apology for targeting "tea party" and "patriot" groups. We within the Liberty Township Tea Party are painfully aware of these intrusive actions.
